Graphic art on paper conservation

The restoration of works on paper (pencil, charcoal, sanguine, pastel, watercolor, gouache, oil, acrylic, metalpoint on prepared paper, and color engravings or lithographs) begins with an analysis of the physical, chemical, and biological factors contributing to the documents' deterioration.

After cleaning to remove various types of stains and bleaching oxidised paper, the restoration process involves consolidation, repairing tears, lining, and filling in gaps (inserting pieces and colour retouching).
We also carry out the restoration of posters.
